Searching the Skies for Stars

http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/kids/stories/spacescience/starparties/

In a countryside, In Virginia, thousands of adults and kids, from even Washington D.C,  gathered one night without any lights, no flashlights, no candles, no source of light. But why? There are preparing for a  star party. Star parties are occasions where astronomers bring their telescope to a certain place, and they let people look through the telescopes, and while they do that, the astronomers give a mini-lesson.  One of the astronomers that attended the star party was Sean O'Brien. First, he went around and asked people to look at the sky and tell him what they see. He revealed that you can even see satellites in space, just you need to know where to look. And for the ones who really know to look in space, they can even see the Andromeda galaxy, which is another galaxy. After the lectures, astronomers let people look at certain spots of space and they give a mini- lesson on that part of the sky and space. O'Brien revealed that you can make a star party in your home, as seasons pass, notice how the sky changes. Another version in which you can do this is observe the time when the moon rises and the time it sets.
I would like to go to one of these parties, because I like watching the night sky and I want to learn more about our space.
